USACE Requests

USACE requested VDOT to do the following in order to better balance the aquatic resources and impacts:

• Consider reducing the median width along Route 7 in order to minimize impacts to the forested wetlands.
• Consider realigning Route 7 further north.
• Consider reducing the widths of shared use paths along Route 7 in the vicinity of the Colvin Run stream relocation.
• Consider reducing the width of the Cross County Trail.
• Conduct an alternatives analysis for the location of the stormwater management facilities.

All of these initial design refinements were reflected in Option 10C, which was conveyed to the prospective Offerors of the Design-Build Contract in the RFP Conceptual Plans.
